The Barbados SIM card is enclosed in an envelope (containing your Barbados Cell Phone number, security PIN and PUK) which is locally referred to in Barbados as a "Flex Pack". Your Barbados Cellular Phone number will begin 1 (246).
* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.
^Your phone will prompt you for a 4 digit PIN code which is on the welcome letter affixed to your Barbados SIM card. You will be prompted for PIN1. The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter in a PIN code incorrectly. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone.
How to make a call
To make an international call from your Barbados mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code, area code and phone number.
How family and friends call you
Family and friends need to dial 1 (same country code as the US) and your mobile phone number.
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 880 and then your mobile phone number, omitting the first 0 (zero).
Your BarbadosSIM card has an initial credit of BRD $20 ($10 USD) which includes BRD $10 preloaded on the SIM and a BRD $10 airtime voucher.
To add credit to your Barbados SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers, also called FLEXcard vouchers. You will find these vouchers at local convenience stores, Digicel shops and authorized dealers in Barbados. They are available in 4 denominations: BRD$10 ($5.60 USD), BRD$20 ($9 USD), BRD$50 ($15 USD) and BRD$75 ($26.20 USD).
To recharge your account:
Do not purchase another Barbados SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher!
Customer service for your Barbados SIM card is available 24/7 by dialing 100 from your mobile phone.
The initial credit balance is valid for 30 days. The 30 day period starts the day you arrive in Barbados.
Every time you recharge your account, the validity of your SIM card will be extended for 60 days.
If you do not recharge your account within 60 days, your SIM card and phone number will be recycled and any remaining credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card.
